IEEE Green ICT Initiative: 28 February Webinar, Young Professionals Idea Competition Deadline 7 April

Launched in early 2015 through the support of IEEE Future Directions’ new initiatives committee, the Green ICT Initiative’s mission statement has been defined as to build a holistic approach to sustainability through ICT by incorporating green metrics throughout IEEE technical domains.

Webinar: Sustainability in a Connected World - What to Expect at the Inaugural Greening Through ICT Summit: 28 February

Date and Time: 28 February 2017, 1:00pm ET (18:00 UTC-05)

Session Information: The IEEE Green ICT Initiative is hosting the first-ever IEEE Greening Through ICT Summit in Paris on 25 May 2017. Bringing together technology specialists, industry leaders, and public policy experts, the Summit will seek to identify the key technical, commercial, and policy challenges to address in order to achieve sustainability through information and communications technologies (ICT).

IEEE Young Professional Green ICT Idea Competition

Young Professionals are invited to participate in the first (IEEE) Young Professional Green ICT Idea Competition. This competition focuses on contributing ideas on Greening ICT itself and Greening through ICT various application sectors of ICT. The ultimate goal is thus not only to create “Sustainable ICT” but also to enable transformative change across society through “Sustainability by ICT”. The deadline to submit your 1-2 page description of your idea is 7 April. For each of three areas, one winner will be selected and invited to attend the IEEE Greening Through ICT Summit in Paris on 25 May 2017.
