Research Engineer- Signal Analytics, GE Global Research at New York

Job Details: As a Research Engineer - Signal Analytics with a strong background in signal analytics (detection, estimation, prediction, data fusion, stochastic processes, modeling, system identification), you will conduct R&D to bring world-class analytics to GE products & services.

Develop an understanding of GE’s varying businesses and how we use technology to add value to our products & services. Work with team members to create a technology research roadmap. Propose research efforts, collaborate with internal and external organizations, and conduct leading R&D.

As a Research Engineer – Signal Analytics, you will:

  • Determine near-term and future business needs in signal analytics at GE Healthcare, GE Energy, GE Wind, GE Transportation, and others.
  • Prepare well-written proposals and deliver strong oral presentations of proposed ideas
  • Conceptualize problems, apply appropriate theory, explore approaches, simulate, and implement.
  • Engage and interact with multidisciplinary teams, internal and external to GE
  • Establish a recognized track record of patents and publications

Requirements:

  • Doctorate degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline such as Statistics and Applied Math
  • Experience with Matlab or C/C++
  • Candidate must be willing to travel a minimum of 6 times per year.
  • Must be willing to work out of an office located in Niskayuna, NY
  • Must be willing to take a drug test and submit to a background investigation as part of the selection process.
  • Must be 18 years or older.
