Member Highlights

Chetan Arora is an Associate Professor with Computer Science Department at IIT Delhi. He received Ph.D. in Computer Science and B.Tech in Electrical Engineering, both from IIT Delhi in 2012 and 1999 respectively. He did his Post Doctoral Research with Prof. Shmuel Peleg from 2012-2014 in Hebrew University, Israel.  Prior to joining IIT Delhi, he was an Assistant Professor with IIIT Delhi.

This issue brings to you our interview with Dr. Maryam Azimi, an active IEEE Signal Processing Society (SPS) Young Professional. 

Dr. Yonina Eldar is a Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science, Weizmann Institute of Science, Rechovot, Israel. She was previously a Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at the Technion, where she held the Edwards Chair in Engineering.

This issue brings to you our interview with Dr. Subhro Das, an active IEEE Signal Processing Society (SPS) Young Professional.  I am a Research Staff Member at the MIT-IBM Watson AI Lab, IBM Research in Cambridge USA. The MIT-IBM Watson AI Lab, a first of its kind industry-academic collaboration between IBM Research and MIT, focus on fundamental research problems at the vanguard of artificial intelligence.

Dr. Amy R. Reibman is a Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Purdue University. Dr. Reibman received the B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from Duke University. She joined Purdue after 23 years of industrial research at AT&T Labs -- Research, where she was a Distinguished Member of Technical Staff and a Lead Inventive Scientist.

Military operations and training present a broad variety of demanding physical tasks which may impact the Warfighter physical performance and health. As it is for anyone who exercises intensely, the possibility of injury is always lurking around the corner.

Dr. Birsen Yazici received her B.S. degrees in electrical engineering and mathematics from Bogazici University, Istanbul Turkey, in 1988, and the M.S.and Ph.D.degrees in mathematics and electrical engineering from Purdue University, West Lafayette, IN, USA, in 1990 and 1994, respectively. 

Shiv Dutt Joshi received the B.E. degree (Hons.) in electrical and electronics engineering from the Birla Institute of Technology, Pilani, India, in 1981, and the M.Tech. degree in communications and radar engineering and the Ph.D. degree in signal processing from IIT Delhi, New Delhi, India, in 1983 and 1988, respectively. 

Dr. Pascale Fung is a Professor at the Department of Electronic & Computer Engineering and the Department of Computer Science & Engineering at The Hong Kong University of Science & Technology (HKUST).

Dr. Maria Sabrina Greco graduated in Electronic Engineering in 1993 and received a Ph.D. degree in Telecommunication Engineering in 1998, from the University of Pisa, Italy. From December 1997 to May 1998, she joined the Georgia Tech Research Institute, Atlanta, in the USA as a visiting research scholar where she carried on research activity in the field of radar detection in non-Gaussian background.
