Research Opportunities

Applicants are invited for one Postdoc position starting Fall 2010 in the field of wireless networks supporting multimedia applications. Successful candidate will be working in the research group of Prof. Lin Cai (please visit www.ece.uvic.ca/~cai for details), in Dept. of E&CE, University of Victoria (UVic), Canada. The contract length is one-year and is renewable subject to performance and funding availability.

The Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center at Georgetown University Medical Center, Washington, DC, jointly with the Bradley Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech), has an one opening for doctoral research assistant.

The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) invites application for a post-doctoral research associate position, which will be a part of a team comprising faculty, other academic staff and graduate students working in Electrical, Computer and Systems Engineering and Civil and Environmental Engineering, at RPI.  We are particularly interested in attracting highly motivated individuals with expertise in the general area of statistical signal processing, with emphasis on pattern recognition, data fusion, image formation and synthetic aperture imagery.

The Department of Electrical, Computer, and Biomedical Engineering at the University of Rhode Island is seeking applicants for several research assistant positions with immediate opening in the following research areas: (1) biomedical signal processing, (2) information security and system reliability, (3) robotic control, and (4) high performance embedded system.

The research group led by Dr. Erchin Serpedin at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of Texas A&M University (College Station, TX) invites application for a postdoctoral research associate position.  The anticipated research work will lie at the interface between information theory, coding, optimization, and statistical signal processing.

Applications are invited from outstanding undergraduate students not yet in their final year of studies to undertake 10-week research projects in Autonomous Robotics at National University of Ireland - Maynooth, Ireland.

The goal of the Summer Internships in Autonomous Robotics (SIAR) is to engage students in research projects which focus on the technological issues surrounding autonomous humanoid robotic soccer.  The program is funded by Science Foundation Ireland through the UREKA (Undergraduate Research Experience & Knowledge Award) Program.

Ph.D. and post-doc positions are available to work on fluorescence microscopy related projects in joint research group with University of Texas at Dallas and UT Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas. The projects aim to develop novel imaging modalities, image processing and data analysis methods for fluorescence microscopy live cell experiments in particular single molecule detection.
