SLTC
e-Newsletter
October, 2006
Welcome to the October 2006 issue of the IEEE Signal Processing Society
Speech and Language
Technical Committee (SLTC) e-Newsletter. As you can see, the newsletter has
gone through a bit of a facelift, as we try to present you with a more visually appealing
way to view the latest news in the speech and language research community.
We would like to welcome our two new Student Reporters
to our newsletter staff, Satanjeev Banerjee, a PhD student from
CMU, and Svetlana Stenchikova, a PhD student from SUNY-Stonybrook. We
would also like to thank the external contributors to this issue, listed
to the left.
Finally, we'd like to remind you that the early
registration deadline for the first IEEE/ACL Spoken Language Technology Workshop (www.slt2006.org) is
October 15.
As always, we welcome your contributions of news,
events, publications, workshops, and career information to the newsletter.
Please send all articles, ideas, and feedback to the SLTC e-Newsletter Editorial
Board [speechnewseds <at> ieee <dot> org].
