IEEE Signal Processing Society has several programs to strengthen engagement between the members of the society, its leadership and the technical communities. The local and glocal chapters spanning all regions of the world assist in engaging IEEE SPS members within and across societies, while strengthening the membership and the relationship of the society with its members through regular lectures, mini-workshops and other events. One of the key focus areas for the society in going forward is to focus on engaging both regular and student members with the various TCs. This opens up several opportunities to address region-specific challenges, identifying areas for growth through member programs or technology. Currently, IEEE Chapters are distributed throughout the world with Regional Directors-At-Large connecting the various chapters within their regions and across regions to bring the latest technology advances to the membership, educate student members through forums, lectures and workshops. It is our hope that strengthening these relationships between local chapters and their members and TCs will spark grassroot efforts, launch conversations between academia and industry that will guide our student members towards challenging problems to work on, increase local and global collaboration and help members derive increased career benefits.
