On behalf of the organizing committee, we are glad to share some updates about the 2021 IEEE Workshop on Spoken Language Technology (SLT). Please check out the website http://2021.ieeeslt.org/ for more details.
First, the safety and well-being of all conference participants is our top priority. Regarding the uncertain situation of COVID-19, the organizing committee has recently made the decision to organize SLT in a virtual format, which can only be attended online rather than in Shenzhen, China, as previously announced. We will post further information at the website as it becomes ready.
Second, we are proud to announce that we have invited the great speakers for the three keynotes and the two invited talks at SLT 2021! They are Prof. Hynek Hermansky from Johns Hopkins University, Dr. Xuedong David Huang from Microsoft, and Dr. Bhuvana Ramabhadran from Google for keynotes, and Prof. Verena Rieser from Heriot-Watt University, Prof. Tomoki Toda from Nagoya University for invited talks.
Third, we have opened the submission portal. The review procedure for SLT 2021 will be double-blind and support author rebuttals. We are currently finalizing the Special Sessions and Satellite Events. On sponsorship, we are going to announce confirmed sponsors at the website soon.
Finally, we want to encourage you to continue supporting the SLT workshop by submitting your excellent research work to the open calls and letting us know if you have any questions and suggestions.
