Getting to the conference

The Darmstadtium conference site can easily be reached by a variety of transport and lies in the centre of the conurbations of the Rhine-Main region and right at the heart of Darmstadt, City of Science. It is a quick journey, whether you are travelling by air, rail or car. Because it is situated in the centre of town, all the infrastructure of a large city is just a few steps away - shopping, cultural visits or just a leisurely stroll in the pedestrian area or the nearby parks.

Arriving by air

Frankfurt's international airport (FRA) is just a 20 minute taxi ride away. A taxi transfer between Darmstadt city centre and Frankfurt airport costs approximately 30-35 EUR. There are several companies which offer fixed rates. It is also not uncommon to agree on a price before departure for such a shuttle.

In addition, there is a fast bus shuttle service (single ticket ca. 7 EUR) and a rail connection to and from Frankfurt Airport.

Arriving by rail

Rail services to Darmstadt's main station include high-speed intercity express trains. The congress centre is barely five minutes from here by public transport. The darmstadtium has its 'own' tram and bus stops right outside the building. Darmstadt's Ostbahnhof station, an important hub between Frankfurt and the Odenwald region is about 800 metres away.

Arriving by car

Darmstadt, City of Science, has several direct links to the A5 and A67 motorways. The congress centre lies in the city centre immediately next to the Residenzschloss palace.

From the exit "Darmstadt/Stadtmitte" drive straight ahead along "Rheinstraße". Follow this through the tunnel and stay on the "Cityring". At the next traffic light turn left into Kirchstraße and follow the road for approx. 400 m. At the junction with "Landgraf-Georg-Straße" you will find our pre-opening offices on the right hand side in "Holzstraße 2". After another 200 m in the direction of the palace ("Schloss") you will be directly in front of the main entrance of the darmstadtium wissenschaft | kongresse centre at Schlossgraben 1.
