The IEEE Signal Processing Society is seeking nominations for future leaders! Nominations for several SPS leadership roles are open now, and we are now soliciting for the following roles with terms beginning 1 January 2025.

The IEEE Computational Intelligence Society; IEEE Computer Society; IEEE Systems, Man, and Cybernetics Society; IEEE Signal Processing Society; and IEEE Robotics Society seek nominations for the position of Editor-in-Chief-Elect of IEEE Transactions on Artificial Intelligence (IEEE TAI) from July 2024, to commence from 1st of January 2025 a two-year term as the Editor-in-Chief.

The Board of Governors of the IEEE Signal Processing Society invites nominations for the society-level Fellow Search Committee based on the newly updated IEEE Fellow Evaluation process.

In the array signal processing research, estimation of the direction-of-arrival (DOA) of the transmitted source signal has long been of great interest and plays an important role in both civilian and military applications such as radar, sonar, geophysics, acoustics, bioengineering, seismology, multimedia, radio astronomy and wireless communication. 

The IEEE Transactions on Multimedia is now accepting nominations for the 2024 Multimedia Prize Paper Award.  Nominations are due no later than 31 March 2024.

Focus stacking is an effective approach to extending the depth of field of a camera, yet is challenging with regard to 1) controlling focal planes in forming a stack and 2) fusing the focal stack into composites free from defocusing, i.e., all-in-focus. We propose a deep learning all-in-focus imaging pipeline as a novel solution for focus stacking.
