Chapter Events and Officer Reporting
A reminder that chapter events and officer reporting need to be updated in vTools <http://vtools.ieee.org> throughout the year. This will ensure that current data is on file and that your chapter activity is accurately recorded. All units are encouraged to try to hold at least virtual meetings, if possible, to show that the unit is active.
Nominate an IEEE Fellow today!
IEEE Fellow is the highest grade of membership of the IEEE. It honors members with an outstanding record of technical achievements, contributing importantly to the advancement or application of engineering, science and technology, and bringing significant value to society.
Series to Highlight Women in Signal Processing: Dr. Anubha Gupta
In this issue, we interviewed Dr. Anubha Gupta. Anubha received her PhD. from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi, India in 2006 in Electrical Engineering. She did her second Master's as a full-time student from the University of Maryland, College Park, the USA from 2008-2010 in Education with a concentration: Higher Education Leadership and Policy Studies.
Series to Highlight Women in Signal Processing: Dr. Namrata Vaswani
Dr. Namrata Vaswani is the Anderlik Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Iowa State University. She received a Ph.D. in 2004 from the University of Maryland, College Park, and a B.Tech. from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT-Delhi) in India in 1999. Her research interests lie in data science, with a particular focus on statistical Machine Learning, Statistical Signal Processing, and Computer Vision.
Deep Learning on Graphs: History, Successes, Challenges, and Next Steps
Deep learning on graphs, also known as Geometric deep learning (GDL) [1], Graph representation learning (GRL), or relational inductive biases, has recently become one of the hottest topics in machine learning. While early works on graph learning go back at least a decade [2], if not two [3], it is undoubtedly the past few years’ progress that has taken these methods from a niche into the spotlight of the Machine Learning (ML) community.
