IEEE Transactions on Multimedia

The IEEE Circuits and Systems Society, IEEE Signal Processing Society, IEEE Communication Society and IEEE Computer Society are seeking qualified experts to join its journal editorial board. Nominations are solicited for appointment as Associate Editor.

The role of the Associate Editors is to manage manuscripts through the peer review process, and to contribute, as a member of the editorial board, to maintaining the health and quality of the journal. Transactions on Multimedia (T-MM) Associate Editors have an initial term of no more than two years, which may be extended by up to two additional years. To be eligible for appointment as Associate Editor, nominees should have obtained a Ph.D. degree at least five years before the date of nomination and should have significant experience in the peer review process.

A nominee must have impeccable credentials as an author as well as a reviewer, possibly also as an editor in previous editorial board appointments. Specifically, nominees must have a solid and continued record as an author and reviewer in T-MM, demonstrating technical excellence, thoroughness and fairness.

Editorial Board members must be members of the IEEE and at least one of the four co-sponsored societies (IEEE Circuits and Systems Society, IEEE Signal Processing Society, IEEE Communication Society or IEEE Computer Society). Additionally, with rare exceptions, candidates who already hold two or more significant editorial roles will not be considered, as availability and sustained engagement are key criteria for these positions. Exceptions can be granted with the approval of the Editor-in-Cheif (EiC) and the IEEE T-MM Steering Committee, if existing commitments do not represent in a high editorial workload. Editorial Board members carry a commitment of dedication and service to T-MM, specifically in terms of timeliness and adherence to IEEE and IEEE co-sponsoring societies policies.

T-MM does not allow self-nomination. The nomination must be made by an Associate Editor (current or past), Steering Committee member, or Editor In Chief. If you are interested in serving as an Editorial Board member, please reach out to the Editor In Chief or journal admin. If you are nominating an individual for appointment as Editorial Board member, please fill out this nomination form.

Nominations are screened, and subsequently assessed by the Editor-in-Chief (or their Deputy) of T-MM. All Editorial Board appointments are subject to approval by the IEEE T-MM Steering Committee.
