News and Resources for Members of the IEEE Signal Processing Society

March 2012

It was with great regret and sadness that the Signal & Image Processing community learned about the sudden loss of TilAach.

The Industry DSP Technology Standing Committee (IDSP-SC) is now focusing on emerging signal processing applications and technologies from industry and practice perspectives.

There were more reports of plagiarism in 2011 than in any year prior. The increase in the number and severity of plagiarism cases is a serious threat to the quality of SPS’s conferences and IEEE Xplore®.

We are just at the beginning of a period of change, changes that hold great promise for the IEEE Signal Processing Society. However great changes can also bring great risks. Navigating successfully through this period of change will require decisions based on observation, dedication and determination. Pror. Wan-Chi Siu, the VP-Conferences, appreciates the voice of the members to drive these decisions and invites you to share the ideas. We look forward to continuing our success and growing both the membership base and conference offerings for the Society.

Nominate an IEEE Senior Member or IEEE Life Senior Member as an IEEE Fellow by 1 March 2012.
