Call for Proposals: (MMSP 2027) 2027 IEEE Multimedia Signal Processing Workshop

Call for Proposals
IEEE Multimedia Signal Processing Workshop (MMSP) 2027

Submission Deadline: 27 November 2024

The IEEE International Workshop on Multimedia Signal Processing (MMSP) workshop is a flagship event of the IEEE Signal Processing Society, sponsored by its Multimedia Signal Processing Technical Committee (MMSP TC). The workshop aims at promoting the advancement of multimedia signal processing research and technology with special emphasis on the interaction, coordination, synchronization, and joint processing of multimodal signals.

Proposing teams are asked to create a proposal that follows the following outline:

  1. Location and Venue: Give an idea on the venue size and facilities.
  2. Conference Dates: Ensure they do not conflict with major world holidays, as outlined in the SPS Conference Organizer Guidelines or other SPS conferences and workshops. Typically, the workshop is held in the Fall.
  3. Organizing Committee Members: Build the organizing committee considering factors including (a) active SPS members; (b) diversity in geographical, industry and academia, age, and gender; (c) conference and/or workshop experience; (d) event management experience. For examples, refer to the MMSP Technical Committee workshops page.
  4. Technical Program: Consider the overall structure and conference model; innovative initiatives; student and young professional initiatives; and industry-participation/support initiatives.
  5. Budget including registration fees
  6. Hotels in the area that cater to different attendee budget levels.
  7. Travel and transportation between the nearest airport and the conference venue.
  8. Any other relevant information about the venue or the organization.

Starting in 2025, the MMSP TC will organize an MMSP Thematic School co-located with the MMSP workshop. The school, lasting 3-4 days, will feature speakers from both the MMSP TC and external experts and will be offered free of charge to students attending the workshop, maximizing the mutual benefits between the workshop and the school. While the MMSP TC will manage the school's technical program, the proponents of the MMSP 2027 workshop are expected to support the local organization as an additional part of the MMSP workshop organization.

  • Interested Organizers are asked to complete and submit an Intent to Bid Form by 27 November 2024
  • Teams will be shortlisted, and finalists will be invited to prepare full proposals, due 25 March 2025. Proposals will be reviewed and selected by the Technical Committee in April 2025.

We encourage you to contact the MMSP TC Chair, Giuseppe Valenzise, via email with questions or to obtain further details about the content of the proposals.

Proposals will be reviewed by the MMSP TC, and the selection results will be announced in April 2025.
