Showcase Your Work in SPS Competitions
SPS Student and Graduate Student Members are eligible to compete in several of the Society’s competitions held throughout the year:
- Signal Processing Cup (SP Cup)
- Video and Image Processing Cup (VIP Cup)
The SP and VIP Cups give SPS Students the opportunity to solve real-life problems using signal processing or video and image processing methods. Rounds of open competition are held before three final teams are selected to present their work and compete for the US$5,000 grand prize at one of the Society’s flagship conferences, ICASSP and ICIP! Full guidelines can be found on each of the competition’s respective websites.

SPS Student and Young Professional Fund
The IEEE Signal Processing Society has partnered with the IEEE Foundation to establish the SPS Student and Young Professional Fund, aimed towards enabling signal processing student and young professional programs and activities. Your donation is 100% matched by the Society and will be used to support signal processing students and young professionals by way of travel grants to attend signal processing related conferences and other educational and developmental experiences, scholarships and fellowships for students pursuing careers in signal processing, creation of educational materials, special events to promote signal processing to students and young professionals, and more. Your generosity today fosters the success of signal processing leaders and visionaries of tomorrow.
While donating online is the fastest and most effective way to make a difference, there are many ways to give, including checks, securities and wire transfers, tribute gifts, and more. Visit the IEEE Foundation website to learn more about the many ways to give and how your generosity makes a difference.
