Position Description: 

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at the George Washington University (GWU) invites applications for a tenured/tenure-track faculty appointment starting as early as Fall 2019, in the area of signal and image processing (SIP). The appointment will be at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor.

Applicants must have an earned doctorate in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a relevant discipline at time of appointment; must demonstrate a solid publication record; must have established or exhibit potential to establish a strong, externally sponsored research program, commensurate with the rank they are seeking; and must be committed to excellence in teaching at both undergraduate and graduate levels.

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering welcomes all aspects of SIP, including but not limited to: (1) SIP using new machine learning and optimization tools, compressive sensing and sparsity, modeling by graphs, (2) SIP applications to communications, biology, medicine, and security (3) SIP hardware and software.

The ECE Department has experienced significant research growth in the last few years. The department has 19 tenure-track faculty including 7 IEEE Fellows. The department is housed in the new 500,000 sq. foot Science and Engineering Hall consisting of state-of-the-art laboratory and instructional facilities.
