Reporting to Senior Scientist in the Research and Advanced Development Department, this individual will be responsible for color mapping, optical modeling and color rendering algorithms for novel electrophoretic displays.

About the position:
Reporting to Senior Scientist in the Research and Advanced Development Department, this individual will be responsible for color mapping, optical modeling and color rendering algorithms for novel electrophoretic displays.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop new color rendering protocols for reflective displays
  • Work with Research and Development groups in system optimization of display performance
  • Contribute to the development of metrology standards for color reflective displays

Qualifications:

  • BS/MS or advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Imaging Science or Applied Mathematics with 5+ years of industrial experience
  • Software/programming languages: expertise in IDL, Matlab, C/C++ or equivalent programming skills
  • Color science: understanding of colorimetry, human visual system, color appearance models, colorant formulation, optical modeling.
  • Device color: knowledge of ICC profiles, color calibration methods
  • Image processing: efficient digital image processing algorithm development, halftoning/dithering, enhancement methods, font rendering, tonescale manipulation, sharpen/smooth, histogram adjustments, bit-depth conversions, white balance, color space conversions
  • Experience with large data sets and methods of statistical analysis
  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems and to design and execute projects independently
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience working in a multidisciplinary team
