Human Language Technology Researcher
The Speech Technology Group of Toshiba Research Europe is looking for an exceptional candidate to join our team of researchers. We seek a creative mind who can significantly advance the state-of-the-art in human language technology such as spoken dialogue and question answering. Your research ideas have a solid theoretical foundation, and you are able to demonstrate the practical value through prototype implementations and PoC (Proof of Concept) with potential customers.
Publishing at major conferences and in top journals is our main objective, and you will be able to actively contribute to our
collaborations with academic groups across the European Union and the Toshiba Corporate R&D Center in Japan.

Responsibilities include:
- Develop and investigate new ideas in human language technology and machine learning
- Contribute to Toshiba’s future technologies
- Attend conferences to present your work and represent Toshiba

Key Qualifications:
- A PhD in human language technology, machine learning or a related field (2+ years post-doctoral or equivalent industrial experience is beneficial)
- In-depth knowledge of fundamentals and state-of-the-art in human language technology and/or machine learning
- Strong publication record at major conferences and journals
- Hands-on experience with theoretical derivations and practical implementations
- Self-motivated and excellent problem solving skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills

Our current core competences are in the areas of automatic speech recognition and data-driven dialogue systems, enabling the creation of advanced, natural, and speech-enabled human-machine interfaces.
