The CMRE is looking for a scientist that will be responsible to support the Centre's role in an EU scientific project. This work will be done in close collaboration with the CMRE programme of work in Data Knowledge and Operational Effectiveness and the incumbent will also interact with the Research Department Head, and relevant Programme Managers and Project Leaders within CMRE on the overall coordination of the assigned tasks to other work within CMRE. As a junior scientist, the incumbent will be asked to perform individual research as part of a team for the project, under the supervision of the project leader. S/he may also be involved in different Programmes of Work or Projects within the CMRE. Do you have the initiative to take on this role? If so, this position could be ideal for you. This position, under strict supervision and following given instructions, is responsible to: Performing Science: Develop and build upon data fusion algorithms in the maritime context which use a probabilistic treatment of the uncertainty (such as the measurement origin); Develop and build upon techniques which utilize HF Surface Wave Radar data, AIS, and contextual information (for instance vessel pattern of life); Produce the CMRE deliverables within the project consortia. If required, support the consortia by attending meetings and briefing CMRE contributions to the consortia.
