Position Description: 

Serco is seeking a Sr. Digital Signal Processing Engineer to support senior technical personnel and project managers in various technical activities related to system and technical product development. Receives general supervision from management as well as technical guidance and training from the more experienced technical staff.

Job Functions:

  • Develops, operates and maintains moderately complex technology systems.
  • Participate in the integration of processes and methodologies to ensure the performance of the total system.
  • Comply with applicable quality and security procedures in the performance of duties.
  • Provides recommendations for improvements to existing quality systems and applicable company procedures and guidelines.
  • Duties often include the collection of information and data, performance of various tests, and engineering computations, measurements and analyses.
  • Analyze, design, develop and test DSP algorithms for undersea systems. Duties include:
    • Systems requirements analysis
    • Signal processing architecture
    • Algorithm development
    • Performance verification and validation
    • Software implementation collaboration
    • Hands-on system performance verification and validation in the lab
  • Independently perform basic data validation and troubleshooting.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, or a related specialized area/field is required (or equivalent experience) plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
  • SECRET security clearance will be required after employment.
  • US Citizenship is required to be considered
  • Ideal candidates have work experience of algorithm development for the statistical analysis of signal parameter measurements utilizing techniques from Detection & Estimation Theory, Random Processes Analysis, and Communications and Information Theory.
  • Experience working with Windows/Linux.
  • Experience with general software development debugging and analysis tools including Matlab.

  • Algorithm development
  • Statistical analysis
  • Knowledge of relevant tools, equipment, hardware, and software.
  • Effective organization level communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
