IEEE has announced the launch of the IEEE eLearning Library, composed of nearly 200 short, online courses in core and emerging technologies. Each course was developed and peer-reviewed by subject experts and awards continuing education units (CEU) or professional development hours (PDH) upon successful completion. IEEE eLearning Library courses can be viewed in the IEEE Xplore digital library and accessed via the IEEE Learning Management System (LMS).

At its 30 September 2010 meeting, the Board of Governors of the IEEE Signal Processing Society passed an amendment to the Society’s Field of Interest, which is a part of the Society’s Constitution document. Procedures require approval by the IEEE Technical Activities Board, which has already been secured, followed by a 30-day period for member comment.
