Why is AI/ML for healthcare different? AI/ML has accomplished wonders on well-posed problems, where the notion of a solution is well-defined and solutions are verifiable. Healthcare is different, where problems are not well-posed and notion of a solution is often not well-defined and solutions are hard to verify. This presents enormous challenges and also enormous opportunities. Goal: Augment human decision making.
