News and Resources for Members of the IEEE Signal Processing Society

February 2024

In the array signal processing research, estimation of the direction-of-arrival (DOA) of the transmitted source signal has long been of great interest and plays an important role in both civilian and military applications such as radar, sonar, geophysics, acoustics, bioengineering, seismology, multimedia, radio astronomy and wireless communication.

Many Chapter officer volunteers ended their terms at the end of 2023. Please report new officers starting in 2024, as well as those who will be continuing!

Did you know IEEE Technical Chapters are supported by both IEEE Member and Geographic Activities (MGA) and IEEE Technical Activities (TA)? Your IEEE Technical Chapter is supported by your Section, Region, and Technical Society/Council.

The Signal Processing Society (SPS) conducts webinars presented by professionals in the field of signal processing and related technologies on an ongoing basis. Webinars are also hosted periodically by SPS Technical Committees, and other network of communities. Visit the Upcoming Events page to see a list of our upcoming webinars and join us! Visit the SPS BLOG for more related content on a regular basis!

The IEEE Signal Processing Society is happy to announce the addition of 42 new Chapters and Student Branch Chapters formed in 2023.

The Board of Governors of the IEEE Signal Processing Society invites nominations for the society-level Fellow Search Committee based on the newly updated IEEE Fellow Evaluation process.

The IEEE Transactions on Multimedia is now accepting nominations for the 2024 Multimedia Prize Paper Award.  Nominations are due no later than 31 March 2024.

If you’re looking to further your research or access research datasets in your field of research, take advantage of your free individual subscription to IEEE DataPort. All society members automatically receive a free individual subscription to IEEE DataPort, the go-to resource for accessing, storing, and managing research data.

The Signal Processing Society (SPS) has 12 Technical Committees that support a broad selection of signal processing-related activities defined by the scope of the Society.

IEEE SPS has built a streamlined mechanism for employers to add a job announcement by simply filling in a simple job opportunity submission Web form related to a particular TC field. To submit job announcements for a particular Technical Committee, the submission form can be found by visiting the page below and selecting a particular TC.
