The BSICoS group (Biomedical Signal Interpretation and Computational Simulation) of the University of Zaragoza is looking for a PhD on signal processing and biomedical data. The work is part of a collaboration project with a multinational company in the automotive field, where the objective is the development of methods to quantify the state of the driver. The tasks of the position include the analysis and characterization of the physiological signal recorded in the vehicle, quantifying its quality and validating the biomarkers of interest that it provides. Finally, a validation study will be carried out to measure the state of the driver.

Requirements: Biomedical Engineering PhD or similar (applicants with training in Telecommunications, Computer Science, Electronics and Control, Mathematics or Physics will be considered). Knowledge of signal processing, C, Matlab, Python, as well as a high level of English will be valued.

The BSICoS (Biomedical Signal Interpretation and Computational Simulation) group, from the University of Zaragoza, belongs to the Instituto de Investigación en Ingeniería de Aragón (I3A), the Instituto de Investigación Sanitaria de Aragón (IIS Aragón), and the Centro de Investigación Biomédica en Red en Bioingeniería, Biomateriales y Nanomedicina (CIBER-BBN). The main objective of the group is to increase the impact of ICTs in health applications, through the development of biomedical signals processing methods, guided by physiology, for the personalized interpretation (diagnosis, prognosis and treatment) of diseases and health conditions of cardiovascular, respiratory and autonomic nervous systems.
