The Signal Processing Society recently approved an initiative that would provide limited Society support for SPS Chapters to send up to two members each to the IEEE International Conference on Image Processing (ICIP [http://2016.ieeeicip.org]) from 25-28 September 2016.

The final round of the 2016 Signal Processing Cup took part at ICASSP in Shanghai. This year's international undergraduate competition explored using a time-varying signature embedded in media recordings to determine the location-of-recording.

The IEEE Signal Processing Society (SPS) is honored to announce the elevation of 5 of its members to the grade of IEEE Senior Member. These members have demonstrated outstanding professional performance, exhibited professional maturity through long-term experience, and established themselves as leaders in their respective IEEE-designated fields of interest. IEEE Medals are the highest recognition within the IEEE awards hierarchy, with the prestigious IEEE Medal of Honor as the premier award. IEEE Medals embrace broad and significant contributions within the technical fields of interest of IEEE.
