Conference Highlights

When we started to organize ICASSP in Barcelona, one of our goals was to promote an environmentally conscious conference by trying to reduce the use of paper, using recyclable plastic badges, replacing USB sticks with electronic downloads, and promoting the use of digital tools as an alternative to the conference booklet. Now that the conference is over, we can say that we promised a green ICASSP, and we certainly delivered!

The 27th European Signal Processing Conference (EUSIPCO) was held 2–6 September 2019 at the A Coruña Conference Center, Palexco. “Balcony of the Atlantic,” “Crystal City,” and “Herculine City” are some of the nicknames for A Coruña, Spain, whose motto is “A Coruña, a cidade onde ninguén é forasteiro,” which translates into “A Coruña, the city where nobody is an outsider.”

Named after the ancient Greek goddess of wisdom, Athens is not just another modern metropolis. With numerous ancient monuments standing sentinel along her streets and squares, Athens never tires of revealing her glorious past to her visitors.
