We have just a few weeks until the Fifth IEEE International Workshop on Computational Advances in Multi-Sensor Adaptive Processing (IEEE CAMSAP 2013), which will be held on December 15-18, in the French-Dutch Caribbean island of Saint Martin. Following the format of previous CAMSAPs the workshop will feature an impressive collection of plenary talks with contributions from Lang Tong, Alfred O. Hero III, Lieven De Lathauwer, Thomas Strohmer, Björn Ottersten and Mário A. T. Figueiredo. With over 140 registrations, this year’s CAMSAP will be one of the largest in the short history of the workshop. We are also happy to announce the Eighth IEEE Sensor Array and Multichannel Signal Processing (IEEE SAM 2014) workshop to take place in the beautiful city of A Coruña located in the North-West of Spain on the Atlantic Ocean around the mid-summer festival on June 22-25, 2014. The conference preparation is well under way and the paper submission deadline is coming up on February 10th, 2014. SAM’14 is featuring plenary talks of Yuri Abramovich, Thomas Kailath, Angel Lozano, Anna Scaglione, Peter Willett and Wotao Yin.
We congratulate the SAM TC member Maria Sabrina Greco for being awarded 2014 Distinguished Lecturer of the IEEE Signal Processing Society for the term 2014-2015 with her lecture topics on: (i) Statistical Analysis Methods for Radar Clutter Modeling; (ii) Advanced Techniques of Radar Detection in Non-Gaussian Background; and (iii) Sensor Selection for Multistatic Radar Networks.
We would like to congratulate our 6 new members Mónica Bugallo, Yonina Eldar, Braham Himed, Jian Li, Chong Meng See and Milica Stojanovic, who have been elected during Fall 2013 to serve on the Sensor Array and Multi-channel (SAM) Technical Committee of the IEEE Signal Processing Society for the term starting in January 2014. The six members Andreas Jakobsson, Randy Moses, Arye Nehorai, Shahram Shahbazpanahi, Ananthram Swami, and Mats Viberg will retire in December 2013 from the SAM TC. We would like to express out deeply gratitude to these members for their meritorious service.
