Call for Nominations: SPS Education Board Standing Committee Chairs
The IEEE Signal Processing Society (SPS) invites nominations for the Chair of the Education Community Committee, Chair of the Content Production Committee, Chair of the Educational Conference Program Committee, and Chair of the Continuing Education for Industry Subcommittee. The term for these positions is three years (1 January 2027-31 December 2029).
The Chair, Educational Community Committee shall be responsible for identifying value/benefit/services to SPS members’ educational needs and recommending policy/mechanism for developing educational programs and continuing education materials and opportunities for Industry and SPS members; creating mentoring experiences for SPS Student members at conferences; maintaining and developing contacts with leadership and SPS membership constituents; and providing proper communication channels and feedback. The Chair, Educational Community Committee is a voting member of the SPS Education Board.
The Chair, Content Production Committee shall be responsible for identifying value/benefit/services to SPS members’ educational needs and recommending policy/mechanism for creating, developing, and curating educational and promotional content that aligns with the Society’s mission, including, but not limited to, short courses, tutorials, and full course packages; maintaining and developing contacts with leadership and SPS membership constituents; and providing proper communication channels and feedback. The Chair, Content Production Committee is a voting member of the SPS Education Board.
The Chair, Educational Conference Programs Committee shall be responsible for identifying value/benefit/services to SPS members’ educational needs and recommending policy/mechanism for creating, developing, and conducting continuing educational programs and opportunities at conferences; reviewing and providing feedback for proposals; developing, conducting, and tracking survey results related to educational programs at conferences; maintaining and developing contacts with leadership and SPS membership constituents; and providing proper communication channels and feedback. The Chair, Educational Content Production Committee is a voting member of the SPS Education Board.
The Chair, Continuing Education for Industry Subcommittee shall be responsible for identifying value/benefit/services to SPS members’ educational needs and recommending policy/mechanism for continuing education; developing programs and material to facilitate continuing education for SPS Industry Members; developing, conducting, and tracking Industry related survey results; maintaining and developing contacts with leadership and SPS Industry membership constituents; and providing proper communication channels and feedback.
