Kostas Plataniotis, SPS Vice President-Membership
The IEEE Signal Processing Society (SPS) invites nominations for the positions of: Chapters Committee Chair, Education Committee Chair and Seasonal Schools Subcommittee Chair. The term for all the positions is three years (1 January 2016-31 December 2018).
The Chapters Committee Chair is responsible for creating and promoting interest in the Society’s activities by assisting the formation of Chapters within IEEE Sections; developing material to assist Chapters in the support of student branch chapter activities; promoting industrial liaisons; assisting Regional Directors-at-Large in their geographical initiatives and working to insure compliance of Society Chapters with IEEE’s requirements for Chapters. He/she also oversees the Society's Distinguished Lecturer Program. The Chapters Committee Chair is a voting member of the Membership Board, chairs the Chapters Committee and reports to the Vice President-Membership.
The Education Committee Chair is responsible for identifying value/benefit/services to educate the signal processing community and public-at-large; increasing the visibility of signal processing, particularly its role in society and technology; developing educational programs and material to facilitate member recruiting and service; maintaining and developing contacts with leadership and membership constituents; and providing proper communication channels and feedback. The Education Committee Chair is a voting member of the Membership Board, chairs the Education Committee and reports to the Vice President-Membership.
The Seasonal Schools Subcommittee Chair is responsible for identifying value/benefit/services to members and recommending policy/mechanism for recruiting Seasonal Schools; developing programs and material to facilitate recruiting and services for Seasonal Schools; maintaining and developing contacts with leadership and membership constituents; and providing proper communication channels and feedback. The Seasonal Schools Subcommittee Chair is a voting member of the Membership Services Committee, chairs the Seasonal Schools Subcommittee and reports to the Director-Membership Services.

Candidates must be members in good standing of the IEEE and Signal Processing Society. Self nominations will be accepted. When making your nomination, please provide the following information:
