Professor Jose M. F. Moura, IEEE Life Fellow, has been elected as the 2018 IEEE President-Elect. Pending acceptance of the IEEE Tellers’ Committee report by the IEEE Board of Directors on 19-20 November. Moura will begin serving as IEEE President on 1 January 2019.

We invite symposium proposals for the sixth IEEE Global Conference on Signal and Information Processing (GlobalSIP) which will be held in Anaheim, CA, on November 26-28, 2019. GlobalSIP is a conference of the IEEE Signal Processing Society conference that focuses on signal and information processing with an emphasis on up-and-coming signal processing themes.

The IEEE Signal Processing Society has appointed five new Editors-in-Chief who will start their terms on 1 January 2018.  The details are as follows...

River bridge scour is an erosion process in which flowing water removes sediment materials (such as sand, rocks) from a bridge foundation, river beds and banks. As a result, the level of the river bed near a bridge pier is lowering such that the bridge foundation stability can be compromised, and the bridge can collapse.
