The purpose of the Image, Video, and Multidimensional Signal Processing Technical Committee (IVMSP TC) is to promote and guide the advancement of the field of image, video, and multidimensional signal processing. This includes those areas listed under all EDICS categories of the IEEE Transactions on Image Processing and under the EDICS subcategory Multidimensional Signal Processing of IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing.
NOTE: call for Nomination of New TC Members 2023-2025!
The IVMSP TC:
This TC was formerly known as the “Image and MultiDimensional Signal Processing” (IMDSP) TC and revised its name to the “Image, Video, and Multidimensional Signal Processing” (IVMSP) TC on October 18, 2008.
On behalf of the IEEE IVMSP-TC Nominations Subcommittee, we would like to call for nomination of new TC members to serve a 3-year term from January 1, 2023 to December 31, 2025.
Eligibility
All Technical Committee candidates must be current IEEE and SPS members in good standing. New member candidates can be self-nominated or nominated by Technical Committee members. Members will serve a term of three years. Current TC members may be nominated for a second consecutive term, but are not eligible to vote in that new-member election and shall not be part of Nominations Subcommittee for that election. Past TC members are eligible to be nominated for an additional term, but at least a three-year gap in service is required.
TC Member Responsibilities
It is expected that all TC members are committed to actively participating in the review of papers for TIP and ICIP as well as papers submitted under the IVMSP track for ICASSP (the current load is around 10 papers per TC member). In addition, TC members should expect to participate in one or more TC subcommittees and volunteer to serve as an area chair for ICIP and/or ICASSP. The TC member is also expected to attend one or more TC meetings at ICIP and/or ICASSP. Accepting a nomination for election to the TC implies accepting these commitments.
Nomination & Election Process
When submitting nominations, please also keep diversity in mind: given the broad scope of our TC, having a diverse set of technically strong members makes for a more effective TC. Historically, the TC tends to be under-represented in terms of women members and industry members. Also, TC members tend to be more geographically concentrated in North America and Europe in comparison with the overall SPS membership. Nominations of strong individuals who would help balancing our TC are particularly encouraged.
Nominations should submitted to: Tao Mei (tmei@live.com), Enrico Magli (enrico.magli@polito.it), Junsong Yuan (jsyuan@buffalo.edu), and Xiaolin Wu (xwu@mail.ece.mcmaster.ca), no later than September 15, 2022 using the IVMSP TC Member Nomination form. The voting period will run afterwards.
