The Multimedia Signal Processing Technical Committee (MMSP TC) promotes the advancement of multimedia signal processing technology, and serves as an incubator of technologies that lie in the gaps between traditional areas.
The MMSP TC participates in organization of workshops and conferences which attract researchers from SPS and related communities who work on multimedia topics. Each year the TC organises its flagship IEEE MMSP workshop, handles the MMSP track at IEEE ICASSP and organises IEEE ICME together with TCs from other 3 IEEE societies. A snapshot of the content presented at these events is demonstrated in public videos below, and in SPS Resource Centre.
The MMSP TC also contributes to the editorial work of several IEEE journals. Predominantly, the TC collaborates with other IEEE Societies that cover multimedia, enabling joint sponsorship of IEEE Transactions on Multimedia. Further examples of TC’s activities have been summarized in an “In the Spotlight” article of SP Magazine.
