Doctoral research assistantship jointly at Georgetown University and Virginia Polytechnic Institute

The Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center at Georgetown University Medical Center, Washington, DC, jointly with the Bradley Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech), has an one opening for doctoral research assistant.

We are seeking highly qualified and motivated candidates with B.S. and M.S. degrees in electrical engineering, bioinformatics, computer science, or related field and relevant experience in signal processing and high dimensional data analysis. Other preferred skills include programming in MATLAB and working knowledge of statistical machine learning methods.

Candidates should formally apply for admission to the PhD Program of the Bradley Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Virginia Tech. Successful candidates will be enrolled as PhD students at Virginia Tech, work as a Graduate Research Assistant at the Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center, and co-supervised by Dr. Habtom Ressom of Georgetown University and Dr. Yue Wang of the Computational Bioinformatics and Bio-imaging Laboratory (CBIL) at Virginia Tech.

Applicants should send their CVs and the names, phone numbers, and e-mail addresses of three references to Dr. Yue Wang at <yuewang AT vt.edu> and Dr. Habtom Ressom at <hwr AT georgetown.edu>.  Applicants are encouraged to send preprints of their publications (if any) and their statement of research interests.
