Call for Nominations: TC/SIG Vice Chair and Member Positions

The Nominations and Appointments Subcommittee for each Technical Committee (TC) and Special Interest Group (SIG) is currently seeking nominations for new Members, as well as the Vice Chair position for some Technical Committees/Special Interest Groups. Nominations for both positions should be submitted directly to each Technical Committee/Special Interest Group's Nominations and Appointments Subcommittee. Please provide the name, contact information and biography with the nomination. The nomination deadline is set as 15 September 2018, and individual information on each Technical CommitteeSpecial Interest Group’s nomination/election schedule can be found on their respective website.

All Technical Committee/Special Interest Group candidates must be current IEEE and SPS members in good standing. New member candidates can be self-nominated or nominated by Technical Committee/Special Interest Group members. Members will serve a term of three years. Current TC/SIG members who are in their first term may be nominated for a second consecutive term, but are not eligible to vote in that new member election and shall not be part of the Nominations Subcommittee for that election. After the second term on a TC/SIG, members may run for additional terms, but there must be an absence of at least 3 years between terms. New members must be willing to review papers within the area of the Technical Committee/SIG, which are submitted to the Society’s conferences, review papers for workshops owned or co-owned by the Technical Committee/SIG, serve in the subcommittees established by the Technical Committee/SIG, and perform other duties as assigned.

Nominations for Vice Chair are restricted to individuals who are currently serving or have previously served as elected members of the Technical Committee/Special Interest Group. The Vice Chair position automatically succeeds to the position of Chair then Past Chair. The term for Vice Chair is normally one calendar year, unless otherwise noted.

Technical Committee/Special Interest Group members will be elected by the members of the Technical Committee/Special Interest Group itself based on the needs of the Technical Committee/Special Interest Group. The election results will be finalized by 15 November.
