IEEE ICIP 2026: Welcome to the Home of Imaging

ICIP2026

The IEEE International Conference on Image Processing (ICIP) is the IEEE flagship event on image processing, vision and imaging. It brings together leading researchers and practitioners from around the world, providing a premier platform for presenting cutting-edge research and engaging with the latest developments in the field - making it a strategic venue for thought leadership and collaboration.

This year, ICIP will be held in Tampere, Finland on 13-17 September. Tampere hosts the Imaging Tampere ecosystem[1] [2] , a vibrant network of over 25 companies—from global corporations to innovative SMEs—driving innovations in imaging pipelines for consumer, safety and security, and bioimaging applications, while advancing technologies such as XR, AI and deep learning, and machine vision. The city is also home to Tampere University, a leading center for signal processing research where generations of world-class imaging scientists have been trained.

ICIP 2026 will feature insightful plenary talks given by three outstanding experts:

  • Ulugbek S. Kamilov, a prominent scholar in signal processing and computational imaging, recognized for his pioneering work in bioimaging and inverse problems.
  • Rebecca Willett, a leading researcher in statistics, data science, and machine learning, whose influential contributions  to interdisciplinary applications have earned worldwide recognition.
  • Stéphane Mallat, a pioneer of wavelet theory and multiresolution analysis, who has profoundly shaped modern signal processing and statistical learning, and continues to advance the mathematical foundations of neural networks.

In addition, leading industrial innovators will enrich the 2026 ICIP program with three keynotes

  • Urho Konttori, founder and CEO of Distance, and previously of Varjo, a pioneer in VR headsets, now focusing on next-generation heads-up displays.
  • Pavlo Molchanov, Research Director at NVIDIA, will share insights from his multi-faceted experience in long-language, vision, and multi-modal models.
  • Anne Aaron, Senior Director of Encoding Technologies at Netflix, will bring her extensive experience on media encoding and processing.

ICIP 2026 will foster collaboration between academia and industry through an industry exhibition, a job fair, and dynamic industry workshops and panels.
