2022 NYU Postdoctoral Opening (position available immediately)

The Computational Medicine Laboratory (CML) at NYU Tandon School of Engineering (lab space located within the NYU Langone Medical Center’s Tech4Health Institute in Manhattan) is seeking to hire a highly motivated and creative Post Doctoral Associate to join an exciting project to conduct research on developing signal processing, machine learning and control algorithms and validation in real-time experiments with human recordings for the MINDWATCH project, and on-going research that was featured by MIT Technology Review’s global list of 35 Innovators under 35. The Computational Medicine Lab mainly focuses on designing control, optimization, estimation, signal processing, and machine learning algorithms for biomedical and neural engineering applications.

Candidates will be responsible for designing signal processing and/or control algorithms, statistical data analysis, validation in real-time experiments with human recordings, developing IRB protocols and performing human subject research, writing scientific papers, grant writing, and mentoring graduate and undergraduate students and course projects. 

Qualifications - The successful candidate will be driven, creative and team-oriented with excellent writing and programming skills and a passion for developing statistical signal processing, machine learning, and various mathematical algorithms for biomedical engineering applications. We are seeking individuals with a strong background in electrical/biomedical/mechanical/computer/aerospace engineering, and/or computer science/statistics/computational neuroscience/data science, and/or applied mathematics/control theory/signal processing, or related fields to develop mathematical algorithms for biomedical engineering and neuroscience applications. The main application focus area will include mental health regulation and optimizing human performance. Prior experience with human subject research is recommended but not required.
