Signal Processing/Optimization Scientist, Cambridge, MA

Schlumberger-Doll Research, based in Cambridge, MA, invites applications for a Post-Doctoral position in its Petrophysics group. The candidate will conduct research in the area of signal processing, optimization and inversion for petrophysical applications with focus on data analysis and algorithm development for constrained and/or simultaneous inversion of various types of data. [Requirements] The candidate is expected to have a PhD in Electrical Engineering, Signal Processing or related field. Strong skills in the areas of signal processing, spectral analysis, solving standard and large-scale optimization problems are expected. Knowledge of Bayesian as well as non-Bayesian approach is required. The candidate needs to be proficient in Matlab, C++ and FORTRAN. Excellent writing and communication skills in English and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team are requirements. Additional knowledge and/or experience in the domains of artificial intelligence and pattern recognition are a plus.
