In accordance with the provision of IEEE Bylaw 307, the Division IX Nominating Committee hereby solicits your nominations for the position of Division IX Director-Elect.  Please send your nominations to Theresa Argiropoulos, SPS Senior Manager, Operations, via t.argiropoulos@ieee.org, as she will be collecting the nominations on my behalf. All nominations must be limited to a one-page description of the candidate’s biography, qualifications, service to IEEE and IEEE member number.  Nominations must be received no later than 4 February 2020.

The position description for Division IX Director can be found here.  Candidates must be an IEEE member in good standing, an IEEE Senior Member or higher, and a member of at least one Society in Division IX.  The qualifications and skills needed for the position are as follows: normally should have had experience as a S/C President or S/C senior leadership position (e.g., Vice President/Chair of a S/C Board and should have the support of that person’s employer in meeting the obligations of the position.  Please note that candidates must also meet qualifications and skills for Member, Board of Directors ((https://www.ieee.org/content/dam/ieee-org/ieee/web/org/about/position_bodmember_generic.pdf).

TERM

The term of the Division IX Director-Elect is a three-year commitment: one-year term as Division Director-Elect, and a two-year term as Division Director.  The position of Division Director-Elect succeeds to the position of Division Director.

ROLE

The Division IX Director serves as a member of the IEEE Assembly, IEEE Board of Directors, Technical Activities Board, Division Directors' Forum and may chair the Division Nominating Committee of his/her Division.
