Program MissionThe Micro Mentoring Experience (MiME) program is a new program sponsored by SPS that will take place during SPS flagship conferences (ICASSP and ICIP) starting in 2023, in the context of the 75th anniversary celebrations of the society. This program aims to enhance the conference experience for first-time conference attendees and other society members that believe they can benefit from a short-time mentoring experience during the conferences.

IEEE SPS VIP Cup 2022: Synthetic Image Detection
The IEEE SPS Video and Image Processing Cup (VIP Cup) student competition, presented by the IEEE Signal Processing Society, gives students the opportunity to work together to solve real-life problems using video and image processing methods. After students submit their work, three final teams are selected to present their work and compete for the grand prize at ICIP 2022.

Details of a challenging problem
Schizophrenia and bipolar disorder are among the top 20 leading causes of disability, demanding timely, accurate diagnosis to select the optimal treatment and reduce the overall burden of the disease. However, the misdiagnosis rate of current diagnostic procedures is high. The misdiagnosis rate for bipolar and schizophrenia was reported to be over 50%, and the misdiagnosis between these two disorders is between 15~30%.
