In 2013, the IEEE Signal Processing Society (SPS) introduced SigView – our online portal of video tutorials in emerging signal processing topics. Over three years, SigView amassed more than 70 videos of technical tutorials, conference recordings, presentations, and more, setting a standard for quality, vetted , and timely signal processing resources. As the Society’s membership grows and evolves, so should its products and services. To that end, we introduce SPS’s newest member benefit – the SPS Resource Center.

Bayesian methods provide a principled approach to some of the hardest problems in computer vision—low signal-to-noise ratios, ill-posed problems, and problems with missing data. This dissertation applies Bayesian modeling to infer multidimensional continuous manifolds (e.g., curves, surfaces) from image data using Gaussian process priors.

Measuring digital picture quality, as perceived by human observers, is increasingly important in applications in which humans are the ultimate consumers of visual information. Standard dynamic range (SDR) images are ubiquitous and provide 8 bits per color per pixel.
