Each month, the Chapter Briefs Newsletter will feature an OU Analytics Tip that will be helpful to all who utilize the OU Analytics tool.  This month's Tip features Potential Chapters.

The first camera phone was sold in 2000, when taking pictures with your phone was an oddity, and sharing pictures online was unheard-of. Today, barely twenty years later, the smartphone is more camera than phone. This transformation was enabled by advances in computational photography — the science and engineering of making great images from small form factor, mobile cameras.

In accordance with the Bylaws of the IEEE Signal Processing Society, I am writing to solicit nominations for the Awards Board and the Nominations and Appointments (N&A) Committee. This year, the Society will be filling TWO positions on the N&A Committee for the term 2021-22 and TWO positions on the Awards Board for the term 2021-2023. Nominations must be received no later than Friday, 25 September 2020.

The 5-Minute Video Clip Contest, called the 5-MICC, is an annual competition at IEEE ICASSP and ICIP conferences. The competition aims to encourage the signal processing community to explain concepts in an innovative way using a video. The participating teams must be composed of a supervisor, at most one graduate student and 3-5 undergraduate students.

IEEE SPS has built a streamlined mechanism for employers to add a job announcement by simply filling in a simple job opportunity submission Web form related to a particular TC field. To submit job announcements for a particular Technical Committee, the submission form can be found by visiting the page below and selecting a particular TC.
