2023 Multimedia Prize Paper Award Nomination Period Is Now Open!

Eligibility: Any paper published (final publication, not Early Access) in the IEEE Transactions on Multimedia (T-MM) in 2020, 2021, or 2022.

Nominations should include:

  • Nominator.
  • Bibliographic information for the paper.
  • A short statement of support (less than 500 words) explaining the rationale for the nomination.

Judging shall be on the basis of originality, subject matter, timeliness, potential impact, and presentation quality.

For the T-MM Prize Paper nomination, the following apply to ensure the fairness and integrity of the nomination/selection process:

  • The nominator has not co-authored paper(s) with the nominated paper's authors in the past 10 years.
  • The nominator is not a former supervisor or student of a nominated paper's author.
  • A nominator's paper has not been nominated for an award by an author of the nominated paper (i.e., no cross-nomination).
  • No self-nominations.

Nominations for the 2023 Multimedia Prize Paper Award must be submitted through the online nomination system no later than 31 March 2023.

T-MM Prize Paper Prize selection schedule and process:

March 31:
Nominations are solicited by the EIC of the T-MM from the Editorial Board, Guest Editors, and readership (through a published notice) of the journal. The EiC also appoints a committee of editorial board members during this time to screen the nominations once they are received.

April 28:
The nominations are screened by a committee of the Editorial Board of T-MM, appointed and chaired by the EIC of the journal. A short list, with a brief assessment report, is generated by the EIC and delivered to the T-MM Paper Award Committee for final selection.

May 26:
Selection is completed and recipients are notified by the EIC of T-MM with a copy to the Executive Office.

T-MM Prize Paper Award will be presented at the ICME 2023 Award Ceremony, in the name of the four sponsoring societies: IEEE-SPS, IEEE-ComSoc, IEEE-CS, and IEEE-CASS.
