IEEE has announced the 2026 IEEE Technical Field Award recipients. Two IEEE Signal Processing Society members have been recognized with an IEEE Technical Field Award:

• The IEEE James L. Flanagan Speech and Audio Processing Award  for an outstanding contribution to the advancement of speech and/or audio signal processing, will be presented to Alex Acero “for contributions to and leadership in developing speech and language technology for robust large-scale deployment.”
• The IEEE Donald O. Pederson Award in Solid-State Circuits​ for outstanding contributions to solid-state circuits, was presented to Jan M. Rabaey “for seminal and visionary contributions to the VLSI implementation of low-energy signal processing and communication systems."

The 2025 IEEE Recognition Award has also been awarded to an SPS member:

• The IEEE Haraden Pratt Award for outstanding volunteer service to IEEE will be presented to José Manuel Fonseca Moura “for sustained leadership, global service, and outstanding contributions enabling new opportunities for IEEE and its members.”
