The funds provided are intended for the support of not only the Section’s activities, but also the activities of its subunits, including Subsections, Chapters, affinity groups, and IEEE Student organizations.

The Board of Governors of the IEEE Signal Processing Society (SPS) has allocated $40,000 for Member-Driven Initiatives for the 2015 calendar year. The funding is open to all Signal Processing Society members, Chapters and Committees. However, all proposals must include the involvement of the local Chapter. Allocation of funds will be competitive.

The IEEE Signal Processing Society (SPS) is accepting proposals for the 2020 IEEE International Conference on Image Processing (ICIP®). SPS Members are invited to submit a proposal to host ICIP. As a special benefit to IEEE members for the month of February, IEEE-USA will offer "Work-Life Balance: Book 1," by Peggy G. Hutcheson. Hutcheson writes that “Work-life balance is a state of control, achievement and satisfaction in your life. It means that you have a sense of being able to make choices that fit for you, given your current situation and your goals. It also means that you align your choices with those things that are important to you in life, so that you are able to enjoy a sense of satisfaction from the choices you have made. Work-life balance includes more than time.
