Due to the large approximation errors, current omega-k algorithms for multireceiver synthetic aperture sonar (MSAS) fail to achieve high-quality results. To address this issue, this letter presents a refined MSAS omega-k algorithm. By employing the proposed method, we derive an accurate range model for the MSAS system through repeated application of the law of cosines. This yields significantly smaller errors compared with conventional methods. Error analysis shows that the approximation error across the entire swath becomes negligible using the proposed method. Experiments further demonstrate that the proposed method significantly improves focusing performance over traditional methods.
