December 2016 - Activity Update from the SAM TC By Hongbin Li, Christoph Mecklenbräuker, Marius Pesavento Upcoming Workshops ICASSP 2017 The 42st IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing (ICASSP 2017) will be held during March 5-9, 2017 in the vibrant city of New Orleans, USA. In 2016 (Shanghai) SAM sponsored 14 sessions at ICASSP, and we expect a similar number this year. We hope to meet you soon in New Orleans!

Already in its third edition, the DFRWS EU 2016 conference will be held in Lausanne, Switzerland from March 30th to April 1st, 2016. The DFRWS is dedicated to the advancement of digital forensics research through open sharing of knowledge and ideas. Ever since it organized the first open workshop in 2001, the DFRWS continues to bring leading researchers, developers, practitioners, and educators from around the world together in an informal collaborative environment.

By Marius Pesavento, Christoph Mecklenbräuker, Marco Lops Upcoming Workshops We have just a few weeks until the Fifth IEEE International Workshop on Computational Advances in Multi-Sensor Adaptive Processing (IEEE CAMSAP 2013), which will be held on December 15-18, in the French-Dutch Caribbean island of Saint Martin. Following the format of previous CAMSAPs the workshop will feature an impressive collection of plenary talks with contributions from Lang Tong, Alfred O. Hero III, Lieven De Lathauwer, Thomas Strohmer, Björn Ottersten and Mário A. T. Figueiredo.

MMSP 2017 is the IEEE 19th International Workshop on Multimedia Signal Processing. The workshop is organized by the Multimedia Signal Processing Technical Committee of the IEEE Signal Processing Society. The workshop will bring together researchers and developers working on multimedia signal processing to share their experience, exchange views, explore future research directions and network. This year’s event has a theme of ‘Multimedia Processing for Healthcare and Assisted Living’. However, other multimedia signal processing problems will be also solicited. This edition of the workshop is organized by the University of Bedfordshire and will take place from October 16 to October 18. The workshop will be hosted in the Chequers style mansion house, Putteridge Bury
