This issue brings to you our interview with Dr. Ervin Sejdić, an Associate Professor at the Swanson School of Engineering, University of Pittsburgh, where he directs a research laboratory focused on engineering developments in medicine. His research has focused on creating computational biomarkers indicative of age- and disease-related changes in functional outcomes such as swallowing, gait, and handwriting.

This issue brings to you our interview with Dr. Hamid Palangi, a Senior Researcher at Microsoft Research Lab (AI) in Redmond, Washington. His current research interests are mainly in the areas of Natural Language Processing and Reasoning across Language and Vision.

In accordance with the Bylaws of the IEEE Signal Processing Society, I am writing to solicit nominations for the Awards Board and the Nominations and Appointments (N&A) Committee. This year, the Society will be filling TWO positions on the N&A Committee for the term 2021-22 and TWO positions on the Awards Board for the term 2021-2023.
