The IEEE Signal Processing Society organizes the SP Cup competition for undergraduates at ICASSP2015. This competition aims to provide undergraduate students with the opportunity to form teams and work together to solve a challenging and interesting real-world problem using signal-processing techniques. Three teams will be selected to present their work, and the prizes will be awarded at ICASSP 2015.

SC2014 will be held 22-24 August 2014, at the RAI Convention Centre in Amsterdam, Netherlands. The primary audience for IEEE Sections Congress is IEEE members who are volunteering within the MGA structure (Region, geographic Council, Section, Subsection, Chapter, and Affinity Group), but volunteers from other IEEE units are encouraged to attend as well.

The IEEE MGA vTools team is happy to announce successful new releases for the following vTools applications: vTools.eNotice: A new vTools application has been released to replace the existing eNotice submission form. Both options will remain available during the month of July as the pilot phase is completed. Try the new eNotice content management system now vTools.Meetings enhancements, such as:

The following SPS Distinguished lectures will be held in the upcoming months

IEEE recently introduced the Student Transition and Elevation Partnership (STEP), a program designed to facilitate the seamless transition from IEEE Student member to young professional by emphasizing the value of IEEE membership at the onset of a STEM career. Through STEP activities and IEEE’s educational and professional resources, we strive to inspire students to consider IEEE membership as an asset during the beginning stages of their careers.

CALL FOR PROPOSALS: ICIP 2019 - Deadline 31 July 2014

The IEEE Signal Processing Society (SPS) is accepting proposals for the 2019 IEEE International Conference on Image Processing (ICIP®). SPS Members are invited to submit a proposal to host ICIP 2019. If you are interested in submitting a proposal please reference our ICIP Proposal Guidelines.

The IEEE Signal Processing Society (SPS) invites nominations for the position of Chief Editor for the Signal Processing Repository (SigPort) for a 3-year term starting 1 January 2015. SigPort is in the development stage, but it will be the Society’s online archive of manuscripts, reports, theses, and supporting materials.

The IEEE Signal Processing Society (SPS) invites nominations for the positions of: Chair, Women in Signal Processing Subcommittee and Chair, Young Professionals Subcommittee. The term for both Chair postions is three years

Your vote is important! The election of Directors-at-Large for Regions 1-6 and Region 8 (term 1 January 2015 through 31 December 2016) and Members-at-Large (term 1 January 2015 through 31 December 2017) of the IEEE SPS Board of Governors is now open.

The IEEE Signal Processing Society (SPS) has more than 16,000 members worldwide – over 16,000 people’s worth of knowledge and ideas spread around the globe.
