IEEE is pleased to announce the launch of a global insurance marketplace, powered by Clements Worldwide, for members based in Regions 8, 9, and 10.

The Center for Leadership Excellence (CLE) is a learning resource aimed at meeting the self-improvement needs of professionals as well as those who are preparing to enter professional practice in the electro-technology fields served by IEEE.

All IEEE members — practitioners, students, volunteers, and non-volunteers — are encouraged to make use of CLE resources.

Three new Members-at-Large will take their seats on the Signal Processing Society Board of Governors beginning 1 January 2014 and will serve until 31 December 2016. The successful candidates are: Geert Leus, Helen Meng, and Fernando Pereira. Two new Regional Directors-at-Large, Douglas O’Shaughnessy and Hong-Yuan Mark Liao, will take their seats on the Signal Processing Society Board of Governors and Membership Board beginning 1 January 2014 and will serve until 31 December 2015.

The SPS Board of Governors recently approved the creation of Special Interest Groups.

Nominations must be received no later than Wednesday, 16 October 2013.

The Fellow Reference Committee Chair, Alle-Jan van der Veen is seeking nominations for four new members of the 2014 Fellow Reference Committee.

Nominations are due 31 January annually for the IEEE Technical Field Awards (TFAs).
