News and Resources for Members of the IEEE Signal Processing Society
As a special benefit to IEEE members for the month of February, IEEE-USA will offer "Work-Life Balance: Book 1," by Peggy G. Hutcheson. Hutcheson writes that “Work-life balance is a state of control, achievement and satisfaction in your life. It means that you have a sense of being able to make choices that fit for you, given your current situation and your goals. It also means that you align your choices with those things that are important to you in life, so that you are able to enjoy a sense of satisfaction from the choices you have made. Work-life balance includes more than time. It includes feeling good about your level of involvement-- in both your work and non-work roles.”

For the month of March, IEEE-USA will offer "Technical Presentations – Book 4: Effective Visual Aids" by Nita Patel. Given that individuals gather, learn, and retain information differently, presenters need to incorporate multiple methods of communicating information during a presentation. Visual aids can provide strong visual tools and increase the audience’s retention of your core message. In this e-book, Patel gives guidance on how to supplement your presentation with effective PowerPoint slides, or other visual aids. Look for the special link on 1 February.
To purchase IEEE members-only products and to receive the member discount on eligible products, members must log in with their IEEE Accounts.
IEEE-USA E-Books seeks authors to write an e-book, or a series of e-books, on career guidance and development topics. If you have an idea for an e-book that will educate other IEEE members on a particular topic of expertise, e-mail your e-book proposal to IEEE-USA E-Book Chair Gus Gaynor, or IEEE-USA Publishing Manager Georgia C. Stelluto.
