DARPA Program Applies Neuroscience to Machine Learning
The Lifelong Learning Machines (L2M) program, a recent program from the Defense Advanced Research Agency or DARPA is funding the development of new machine learning systems that can learn continuously, adjust to new changes and apply previous knowledge to new situations.
Reflecting Back on 2019
Well, we're at the end of 2019. Most likely, this was like any other year for most of us. We had some successes and some failures, but overall, it's not a bad year. We're all getting ready for holidays, with our goals for 2020 slowly brewing in the back of our minds.
OU Analytics - Latest Announcement
Accounts for ordering membership development materials are now created at the Section and Student Branch level. New sign in credentials for the Marcore ordering portal were sent to MD Chairs (or Section Chairs) and Student Branch Chairs in early August.
Get Involved with Technical Committees via the Affiliate TC Membership
The Signal Processing Society (SPS) has 13 Technical Committees and 2 Special Interest Groups (SIGs) that support a broad selection of signal processing-related activities defined by the scope of the Society.
OU Analytics - Latest Enhancement
The title of "Memberships, Subscriptions, and More..." dashboard on the OU Analytics landing page has been renamed to add a parenthetical reference within the title to include (Societies, TCs, Affinities). There has been some confusion as to the content provided within the "Members and Affiliates" versus the "Memberships, Subscriptions, and More..." dashboard.
Enhancements added to OU Analytics - Geographic Map
New enhancements to the display of Section and Chapter data are now available in the Geographic Map within OU Analytics. Boundaries have been expanded to incorporate additional Sections/Subsections not previously included.

Beginning this year, all eligible IEEE Signal Processing Society Members were able to cast their vote for the next IEEE Signal Processing Society President-Elect. The President-Elect will sit on the IEEE Signal Processing Society Board of Governors beginning 1 January 2020 and will serve until 31 December 2021, when they will be elevated to Society President.

IEEE SPS has built a streamlined mechanism for employers to add a job announcement by simply filling in a simple job opportunity submission Web form related to a particular TC field. To submit job announcements for a particular Technical Committee, the submission form can be found by visiting the page below and selecting a particular TC.
